Recess -Tour de Manawatu Charity Cycle Challenge
The Fitzherbert Lions club has been involved with the annual “Tour de Manawatu” Cycle Challenge since the 1990’s, over this time with the help of many and varied sponsors and the support of many Lions Club volunteers has raised a large amount of moneys which has been donated to local charities and community organisations.
Over recent years entries have been in decline, while the costs and compliance has continued to increase.
After much discussion the Club has decided that the cycle challenge will not be held this year and the event will be in placed in recess, any future holding of the event will be reappraised at a later time.
The many grateful charitable organisations that have benefited from the event over the years has only been made possible by the loyal support of sponsors, entrants, and our other Lions Club volunteers, we wish to acknowledge that this would not have been able to be undertaken without their contribution.
Thank you for all for your support.
